To bean, or not to bean? we want your input!
This season, we are considering adding on a weekly rotation of fresh roasted coffee beans from the wonderful coffee vendors at CFW's markets. If you would be interested in this opportunity, please respond to this email (email@example.com) with "coffee" and any other ideas you would like to share!
This will be our second year running the Cook with your CSA class. We send out a sign up email the first/second week of June. The idea is that you pick up your share at in class (instead of the market), and whip up some recipes for the week right then and there.
The class is run by the YMCA Anthony Bowen, at 14th and W. You don't have to be a member of the Y to participate! It is $60 for 4 classes, $20 off their normal rate!
Add-Ons for Your market Share: Meet the makers!
Volunteer opportunities galore
The Market Share relies on the support of awesome volunteers to function. If you or a pal are interested in helping us build shares, please email CSA@cfwdc.org. You have the opportunity to interact with the seasonal food the farmers provide each week while getting to know fellow community members! And you get a sweet t-shirt tan ;)
Country Vittles from Critter hill Farm
Country Vittles from Critter Hill Farm is completely family owned and operated. They have one farm in northern Carroll County, Maryland, and one in Biglerville, Pennsylvania. Country Vittles chooses to raise their animals the old fashioned way; their animals are raised on grassy pastures and their feeds are free of antibiotics and animal by-products. They never use growth hormones or stimulants to push their animals through production!
Add on Country Vittles' free-range eggs, grass-fed ground beef, pasture-raised sausages, and free-range whole chicken!
Since 2006, Girardot’s Crumbs Bakery has brought fresh-baked bread and other treats to markets across the DC-area. Everything they bake is made with all natural ingredients, that means they're never bleached, never bromated, and there's no artificial coloring or flavors.
Add on a loaf Girardot's bread! Keep things exciting by choosing a different variety each week! (Vegan options available)
Liberty View Creamery
Liberty View Creamery is located in the beautiful countryside of the Littlestown / Gettysburg area of southern Pennsylvania. At this family farm, the goats have pasture available year-round and have a name (not a number).
Add on a weekly rotation of chevre, feta, and cheddar goat cheese, or a quart of pasteurized goat milk from pasture-raised kids!
